After we've had a great day on the water we love to head into Keswick to grab a pint at one of the amazing pubs or to sit back and enjoy some live music. Fortunately, there are lots of brilliant local acts in the pubs, bars and venues across this Lake District town, so you'll be spoiled for choice.

Could this be the quirkiest bar in Keswick? We certainly think so! Full of fascinating bric-a-brac and music that ranges from acoustic to jazz, you won't quickly forget this spot. There are plenty of craft beers to sample (over 100, in fact!), delicious locally sourced meals to munch on, and over 100 different whiskies to sup!
There's live music at The Crafty Baa every Saturday from 8.30pm - 10pm, plus an open mic night every Thursday, 8.30pm - 10pm.
The Back Bar in the Inn on the Square is a family- and dog-friendly pub with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and a welcoming wood burner. There's plenty of entertainment, including a pool table, darts, live sports and, of course, regular live music sessions. Head here for a comfortable and relaxed evening in the very centre of Keswick.
Keswick's lakeside theatre is a great place to catch occasional live music, as well as theatre, cinema and talks. A more formal atmosphere than the local bars and pubs, the theatre is well worth a visit and is renowned for its excellent performances.
You'll hear the excellent sounds of live music coming from the Oddfellows Arms on most Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the year. Starting at 9pm, you can enjoy an evening packed full of entertainment. And this traditional market town pub is right in the heart of Keswick, so you won't have far to go to get home either! Dogs are welcome and details of music acts can be found on their Facebook page.
Whether it's from the football, the lively music nights, or the great food, The Golden Lion is always bustling! Right on Keswick's high street, it's easily accessible for walk-ins and you can usually find a seat even on the busiest of evenings. Football fans will love the sports bar, and there's live music in the evening of select weekends. You don't even have to choose between them, as sometimes you'll get a football match on the big screens followed by excellent music to help you celebrate or commiserate. Take a look at their Facebook page to find out details.
Threlkeld is a small village just a 10-minute drive from Keswick (or about an hour and a half's walk along the railway path if you're not too exhausted after your outdoor adventures!) The village hall has a packed programme of events throughout the year, including plenty of live music. You'll find all sorts of styles here, including brass bands, Americana and folk.
Head south from Keswick and into Borrowdale and you'll soon come upon the stunning Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa. Though their live music nights aren't overly frequent, they're great fun when they do take place, and it's advisable to book in advance. The popular music evenings are full-on events, usually with welcome drinks and a three course meal served while you enjoy the entertainment.
This independent gem is all about the live music, plus a generous side of homemade pizza, local craft beers and real ales. There's always a great atmosphere around the spot, and live music events several times through every week. Monday is open mic night, where you can hear some untapped talent or even put your own skills on display; on Wednesdays you can jam to a bit of reggae or folk; and on Fridays enjoy a live gig. The Pocket is small but bursting with musical entertainment.
As well as regular live music events in Keswick's venues, there are a number of festivals that take place in this Lake District town throughout the year. These are amazing events with lots going on and they often last a full weekend or more. If you're visiting at the right time, check out these festivals, all of which include plenty of live music. And look out for the Keswick Adventures team, as we can often be found wandering around and enjoying the atmosphere!
Don't forget to book your outdoor adventure before you settle down for an evening of live music, tasty food, and good company.
